Laboratory of Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos

The Laboratory of Cryopreservation of Fish Sperm was established as a part of the Department for Cryobiology of Reproduction System . Recently, the activities of the laboratory were widened, and accordingly, the title has been changed to the Laboratory of Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos (2016). Now it is headed by Dr. Taisiya Yurchuk.

COLLECTION OF FISH REPRODUCTIVE CELLS 
The IPC&C of the NAS of Ukraine has created the  unique collection of sperm of carp, sturgeon, salmon, which has a total of more than 30 species of fish collected from different regions of Eurasia since the 1980s.  Our Cryobank of fish reproductive cells is considered one of the first in the world. Some of the examples of the Carp specimens are: Hungarian carp, Zagorje carp, German carp, Romanian carp, Cherepets carp, Japanese carp, Middle Russian carp, Luchegorsk carp, Amur carp, variegated silver carp, White silver carp, White silver carp of Amur and Chinese origin.
Salmonids: pink salmon, catfish, coho, Baltic salmon, lake salmon, sockeye salmon, rainbow trout, brook trout.
Sturgeons: beluga, bester, kaluga, Russian sturgeon, sterlet, etc.
