SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS

The Laboratory as a part of the Department of Cryomicrobiology is involved  in  implementing  the scientific projects of the Department. In addition, the tasks of the Laboratory of Microbiology are as follows:

• To provide the  experiments with microorganisms and cell cultures (preparation, sterilization of nutrient media, preparation and sterilization of consumables and tools, microbiological control for the working rooms  and staff, disinfection and disposal of biological materials);
• To participate  in sanitary and epidemiological measures carried out at the Institute;
• To maintain the collection of microorganisms for scientific researches.  Investigation of the impact of long-term storage at different low temperatures under the Institute’s low-temperature bank conditions  on microorganism  survival.
• The laboratory meets the quality requirements and participates in the international clinical trials of pharmaceutical drugs.

RESEARCH PROJECTS 

• Designing the technologies for low-temperature preservation of immobilized cells and biologically active compounds (№ 2.2.6.92, State Registration Number 0115U000094). 2015-2017
• To study the mechanisms of cryodamage to microorganisms, immobilized in gel carriers with different physicochemical properties during low-temperature storage and lyophilization (№2.2.6.118, State Registration Number 0118U001187). 2018-2022
• To study the impact of cryopreservation and storage conditions on yeast-like fungi, postnatal fibroblasts and passaged cell culture (№ 2.2.6.20, State Registration Number 0104U003919). 2005–2009
• To investigate  the mechanisms of cryodamage and cryoprotection of immobilized cells in order to Improve their survival  during cryopreservation and lyophilization (2.2.6.54, State Registration Number 0110U000404). 2010-2014
