The institute's animal house (vivarium) is scientific-assisting department. It's main function is breeding and maintenance of laboratory animals. The animal house maintain rabbits, rats, mice, guinea pigs, hamsters and gerbils. The operation of animal house is supported by qualified personnel of 7 people, including the head of the department. The animal house is a one-store building, with the area of about 500 m2. It comprise the rooms for keeping laboratory animals as well as assisting rooms: food preparation station; surgery-room, changing room for service staff; shower. Head of the animal house is Lyudmila V. Batsunova.
